I will stick to all the usual conventions to simply get the basic marks as they all come together to get the grade I want. There will be a mashead in the right hand top corner of the front cover and one big image of the main band I will be talking about within my double page spread. however even though i will have subheadings i will be using pull quote to be the mian headline ojn my front cover it'll be spread across the main image. With my logo text I will be different as i will be drawing them and then using it as my font choice because i could not find a text i liked that would suit my magazine and by doing this it will appeal to my target audience with the grunge rock look of a ink stained logo. The choice of lexis will have some swear words as I want to use lyrics from their songs to target a more open minded audience who have a rebel an open spirit to say. The colour like my whole magazine will be focused on black and white as it will be my theme that will be my unique selling point. It will establish me from other competiors as readers can identify my magazine.
If it was distrubuted within 'the read world' I would not expect huge success as it only focuses on small local bands im just trying to promote north east music and bands within it. Therefore it would be published around record stores where people go for just music and that is my audience, people like me, who go out to find new music discover music and buy music. I'm wasting time by putting the magazine in any other stores as it is not commerical. I think their is a gap in the market a small one that could grow but all it needs is backing from record stores and local venues. To promote venues and bands in newcastle area would be great, with online sales and new modern technology coming out and making it easier to purchase money for free, i think there is a market of people who want the spirit of music back the one where it cuts all the modern 'bull' and just want to discover bands for themsleves fall back in love with music that has been lost for decades.
I like to have an open spirit about most things thertefore should we really neglect any group within society any one in the world can enjoy music and read about it so why target anyone. But, for the purpose of this, my target audience would be 13-25 year olds as they are at that age where they have the energy to buy tickets and wait amnd then stand watching a band for hours. There also at that age where they have limited responsibility no kids no houseto pay for. And have the money and time to go and buy a magazine and read about what they enjoy. however, anyone willing to read and enjoy rock music as the magazine is based on only rock are more than welcome by me, personally.
I fully believe that most of my publicty for the magazine will be from social networking from venues accounts that i will be showing in the magazine and bands that are featuring in the magazine as they are promoting people to buy my magazine whilst im promoting them in my magazine for people to listen to. I know idependent record stores will be very helpful as they allow others to put their magazine within the store.
